A new television series sponsored by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is to be broadcast next month in order to raise awareness of the importance of keeping good corporation tax records.
Presented by Hilary Devey, The Business Inspector is a four-part series that will be broadcast weekly on Five from March 10th and aims to help businesses stay afloat by improving the way they handle their paperwork, among other things.
"We know that most small businesses want to get their tax right," said Stephen Banyard, business customer unit director at HMRC.
"But we also know too that failure to take reasonable care costs the Exchequer over £6 billion a year, with a major cause being poor record keeping."
HMRC recently announced the dates for its spring and summer Business Advice Open Days, which are set to help companies with their corporation tax keeping as well as issues like VAT and self-employment.
